"STIX" Sports Bar will open for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins Regular Season Home Opener on Saturday, October 8th
The Luzerne County Convention Center Authority (LCCCA) and SMG Management Team together unveiled the new Concourse Bar at Mohegan Sun Arena. The Sports Bar, named "STIX", incorporates a hockey theme of pucks and sticks and features several craft beer selections that are not available at the concessions stands. The Sports Bar also features several hi-definition televisions to provide fans the opportunity to catch scores and get updates on their
favorite teams.
"STIX" Sports Bar will truly be an exciting experience for the casual fan as well as the season ticket holder," said LCCCA Chair Pat Connors. "The theme of the bar (hockey) is not only appropriate
but unique in the bar design. Fans can experience seasonal brews as well as a different atmosphere not found anywhere else in the arena. In addition, there are several hi-definition television screens so fans can follow their favorite major league teams while enjoying a Penguins hockey game, concert or Shamrocks lacrosse game. This will truly be a unique and fun experience for all involved."
Over the Summer, the LCCCA Board approved Quad 3 Group from Wilkes-Barre to oversee the construction of the bar. Through a competitive bid process on behalf of the board, Quad 3 Group awarded the construction of the bar to L.R. Costanzo Co., Inc. from Scranton.
