Luzerne County Convention Center Authority announced Pennstar Bank, a division of NBT Bank, as the first-ever naming-rights partner for the venue box office at Mohegan Sun Arena in Luzerne County. The five-year agreement will take effect on July 1, 2010. The official name of the box office will be the "Pennstar Box Office at Mohegan Sun Arena".
"The Luzerne County Convention Center Authority Board of Directors with SMG Management of the Mohegan Sun Arena welcomes Pennstar, a division NBT Bank, to our family with the box office naming rights sponsorship," said Patrick Judge, LCCCA Board Chairman. "We believe that we have the number one destination and that the Arena has brought entertainment and economic development to our region. Pennstar has a tremendous name that it has brought to our area and joins our other respected sponsors to make this a viable community asset."

The Mohegan Sun Arena has become the premiere sports and entertainment facility in Northeastern Pennsylvania hosting numerous sold out events throughout its history, including Neil Diamond, The Eagles, Simon & Garfunkel, Cher, Bon Jovi, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, AC/DC and Elton John.

The independent community bank, headquartered in Scranton, Pa., has 37 offices in six northeastern Pennsylvania counties.
